A Street Graph-Based Morphometric Characterization of Two Large Urban Areas

چکیده

Urban microclimate modelling, both numerical and in the laboratory, has strong implications many relevant health life-style management issues e.g., studies for assessment forecast of air quality (for outdoor and, as boundary conditions, indoor investigations), thermometric trend analysis urban zones, cultural heritage preservation, etc. Moreover, study modelling is largely promoted encouraged by international institutions its implication human protection. In present work, we propose discuss an adaptive street graph-based method aimed at automatically computing geometrical parameters adopted atmospheric turbulent flow modelling. This been applied to two real cases, Italian cities Rome Cagliari, results compared with ones from traditional methods based on regular grids. Results show that proposed leads a more accurate determination canyon (Canyon Aspect Ratio Building Ratio) morphometric (Planar Area Index Frontal Index) grid-based methods, least tested cases. Further investigations larger number different contexts are planned thoroughly test validate algorithm.

A 3D Finite-Difference Analysis of Interaction between a Newly-Driven Large Tunnel with Twin Tunnels in Urban Areas

Evaluation of the interaction between a new and the existing underground structures is one of the important problems in urban tunneling. In this work, using FLAC3D, four numerical models of single- and twin-tube tunnels in urban areas are developed, where the horizontal distance between the single- and twin-tube tunnels are varied. The aim is to analyze the effects of the horizontal dista...

Srtm Data Characterization in Urban Areas

The availability of Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) data opens the possibility to characterize urban areas by means of this sensor all over the world. In particular, the global digital elevation model (DEM) can provide a three-dimensional atlas of urban agglomerates. However, the coarse ground resolution and the problems due to radar imaging of the complex urban environments do not allo...

Outward Accessibility in Urban Street Networks: Characterization and Improvements

The dynamics of transportation through towns and cities is strongly affected by the topology of the connections and routes. The current work describes an approach combining complex networks and self-avoiding random walk dynamics in order to quantify in objective and accurate manner, along a range of spatial scales, the accessibility of places in towns and cities. The transition probabilities ar...

A state of the art of urban reconstruction: street, street network, vegetation, urban feature

World population is raising, especially the part of people living in cities. With increased population and complex roles regarding their inhabitants and their surroundings, cities concentrate difficulties for design, planning and analysis. These tasks require a way to reconstruct/model a city. Traditionally, much attention has been given to buildings reconstruction, yet an essential part of cit...

Mapping parcel-level urban areas for a large geographical area

As a vital indicator for measuring urban development, urban areas are expected to be identified explicitly and conveniently with widely available dataset thereby benefiting the planning decisions and relevant urban studies. Existing approaches to identify urban areas normally based on midresolution sensing dataset, socioeconomic information (e.g. population density) generally associate with low...
